Africa power… Superbe Film de nos compatriotes Arthur Bourbon & Damien Castera

En juin 2018, les surfeurs Arthur Bourbon et Damien Castera sont partis réaliser un film documentaire sur le Liberia. Pays méconnu, ravagé par 15 ans de guerre civile, ils sont venus retracer l’histoire de la première communauté de surfeurs du pays. Voici le clip de leur aventure. Un documentaire long métrage est actuellement en cours de montage et sera disponible début 2019. Remerciement spécial à BCUC pour la musique. There is snow on the hills of Portugal. The drive to Portugal is long and usually uneventful. But the destination is always worth it. Returning to places you’ve been before can be a hard act to follow. However with the teamsheet assembled we had little doubt we’d be on for a good one. We would rent a house that anywhere outside of Portugal would be out of our budgets and we would live there for the best part of a month as a happy, yet highly dysfunctional family. We would go between wedges in the Algarve, the scary side of surfing in Nazare, 6am finishes in Lisbon and the glorious points of Ericeria. We would call it Rumble Fish. A Volcom Surf Film. Starring Alex Bothelo, Gony Zubizaretta, William Aliotti, Joao Moreira, Charly Quivront, Maud Lecar, Bapiste Gaud and Harry Timson.

'Wajung' is a short film by Nathan Oldfield commissioned by The Surfer’s Journal. It features the surfing of Dave Rastovich and the music of Nick Wales. 'Wajung' is the name given to the bottlenose dolphin by the Arakwal People, the traditional custodians of this region of Bundjalung Country on the Far North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. Wajung can live for over fifty years and they typically live as a community as residents along a particular stretch of coast. As a result, they know the local seascape intimately. Wajung are an important totem for Saltwater People. Wajung give messages about relationships between clan members, create links between ancestors and the past and also help to connect people with places and events in Country. There are many stories of Wajung and Saltwater People communicating and interacting with one another, including cooperative fishing practices, sharing resources together and participating in mutual play in the sea.
